Small amounts of glue can be recycled, although before you recycle a box containing glue, you should always check that the quantity of glue is not excessive.
Excess amounts of glue or adhesive on packaging products can make it harder to dispose of, and some councils do not have the capability to easily break excess glue. This goes for any form of product containing glue, not just packaging, with glues including spray adhesive, paper tape and other adhesives. You can check your recycling requirements with your local council here:

Glue and adhesives are among the most popular and preferred sealing methods. Glue is usually made using cyanoacrylate, a very strong acrylic resin, making it the preferred method compared to other sealing methods, such as stapling and stitching.
Paper tape is fast growing in popularity as it is a great way of securing your packaging sustainably, with an overprinting option that will contribute to enhancing your branding and the unboxing experience.
